Silver Jubilee Celebration of Fr. Andrew Nguyen Tin SDB

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, May 24, 2016 — The entire Mongolian delegate is rejoicing and celebrating with Fr. Andrew Nguyen Trung Tin, the delegate superior of Mongolia at the completion of 25 years of his first religious profession. The celebration began at 5.30 pm with Holy Eucharist presided by His Excellency Wenceslao Padilla in the cathedral chapel in the presence of 50 to 60 missionaries working in Mongolia and other faithful. The Holy Eucharist was celebrated in Honor of Mary Help of Christians. In his homily Bp. Wenceslao Padilla emphasized on the challenges of religious life and various faces of religious vows.

After the Holy Mass there was a blessing of Don Bosco Caring Center building which is under construction. Thereafter, dinner was served for all the missionaries in salesian residence. During the meal short program was presented by Don Bosco community. In his Thanksgiving speech Fr. Andrew Nguyen Trung Tin expressed his joy of being a Salesian, the accompaniment of Mary and fidelity of God towards him.

Fr. Andrew Nguyen hails from a deep rooted Christian family. He was born in Vietnam, Dalat city in 1968, entered Don Bosco oratory 1975, made his first vows in May 24, 1991 and ordained priest in 2002 in Mongolia. He has been rector and parish priest of Darkhan (Mongolia). He has been Delegate superior of Mongolia since 2010. He is one of the pioneers of Mongolian mission, known for his joviality, patience, perseverance, hardworking and a man of great caliber. We express our heartfelt gratitude for animating Mongolian mission for past years. We would like to congratulate him on the occasion of his Silver Jubilee of the first profession.
