Quinquennium for Three young priests

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, 6 July 2016 — Three young priests Fr. Anthony Kishore Minj SDB (4 years priest) Fr. Joseph Dat SDB (3 years priests) and Fr. Mario Santosh SDB (1year priest) had an ongoing formation so called quinquennium from June 30 to July 5. It was conducted and guided by Fr. Andrew Tin Nguyen SDB the Delegate superior of Mongolia.

The young priests were led from Ulaanbaatar the capital of Mongolia to another province called Uwurhangai and the city is called Arvaahair. It is around 800kms from UB. It is a small parish run by the Consolata missionaries. The parish church is a Mongolian Ger (house), made of sheep wool and thin wooden planks. It has approximately 24 baptized Catholics. They have an oratory in which around 60 to 70 young people frequent. Besides, they have handicraft productions done by the local women and shower rooms for the neighborhood, a green house and an Alcohol and Drug Rehabs center.

Quinquennium for Three young priests 1On the first day the talk was given by Fr. Giorgio the Consolata priest from Italy a missionary for 13 years in Arvaahair (Mongolia). He talked about the priestly vocation which is sustained only by the personal and deep communion with God. The following day Fr. Andrew Nguyen Tin, SDB shared his priestly life experience. He recently celebrated Silver Jubilee of his religious vows. He is the Missionary Ad Gentes of the millennium year (Year 2000). He is one of pioneer missionaries of Mongolia.

The three young priests spent time in prayer, personal reflection, sharing and a bit of entertainment with the youth of the parish. It was fruitful and enriching experience.
