DON BOSCO in Mongolia

Mongolia welcomes with joy and gratitude two new members

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, October 18, 2015 – It was a very remarkable day for Salesians in Mongolia as they received two very young, active and energetic conferrers in the person of Fr. Jaroslav and Fr. Mario. They offered their first Mass in Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral Ulaanbaatar. Fr. Mario Gasper presided over the mass. After the mass a short concert was performed by the young people of Don Bosco Caring Center.

After completing his theological studies in Manila, Philippines, Fr. Mario Gasper was ordained priest in Timor-Leste on August 24, 2015. His Ordination motto was, “Do this in memory of me.” (Lk 22:19) While delivering his homily on mission Sunday he emphasized that all the Catholics are called to be missionaries and are called to serve and give life to others. Presently he has been assigned to Mary Help of Christian parish in Darkhan northern part of Mongolia.

Fr. Jaroslav arrived Ulaanbaatar on October 17, 2015 on the eve of the mission Sunday. He has been actively working in the mission office of Czech Republic for past many years. His hobby is to be creative in the technology. He always likes to be inventive in the area of digital communication. He will be staying in Mongolia for two weeks to see the Salesian mission work. Then next year he will be full-fledged part of the Mongolian mission.
