Yesterday, Tuesday, August 15, was the Great Feast of the Assumption of the Immaculate Virgin Mary into Heaven.

On this special day, Cardinal Giorgio Marengo presided over the blessing of the new Church of the Holy Family Parish in Shuwuu on the periphery of Ulaanbaatar, during which Fr. Jarosłav Vracovsky SDB was installed as the first parish priest of this new church.

In 1998, the nuns of the “ICM” group first spread the Gospel of Christ in Shuwuu and created here the first Catholic community and home church. Since 2016, the Salesian congragation has continued to spread the Gospel in Shuwuu.

The altar, which is the most important part of the new house in the shape of a Mongolian house, was blessed by anointing it with fragrant oil, and the Cardinal emphasized that it is important for us to witness the love of God to the faithful during the ceremony.
